Location

Castle Cary is a small market town situated some 12 miles north-east of Yeovil and 24 miles south of Bath. Lying on the edge of rolling countryside, between the Somerset Levels to the west and Penselwood to the east, it welcomes the Paddington to Penzance trains, which stop at Castle Cary station about a mile away.

The old part of Castle Cary runs along the foot of steep, grassy Lodge Hill, below where the castle used to stand. A short walk up this hill provides a stunning vantage point, from which the surrounding natural beauty can be viewed.

Castle Cary is a proud fair trade town, boasting a selection of both intriguing and indispensable independent businesses for local residents and visitors alike. Visitors are able to take their time exploring this little gem of a place as the town provides free parking both on street and in carparks.
